About Kimono Dressing
About the Time Required for Kimono or Yukata Dressing
Kimono or yukata dressing typically takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
However, the required time may vary depending on how busy it is and the specific options or requests you may have.
During peak seasons—such as March, Golden Week, and November—we welcome many visitors, and the dressing process may take longer than usual.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and kindly ask for your understanding.
Do you also arrange the obi (belt) style?
Our professional dressers can style the obi (belt) while considering the color balance and pattern of your kimono.
If you have any preferences, please feel free to let the dresser know during the dressing process.
Within the range of standard hanhaba obi tying methods, we will do our best to accommodate your request and offer a style that suits you.
Is it possible to rent a kimono while pregnant?
We are very sorry, but as a general policy, we do not offer kimono rentals to guests who are pregnant.
Because the dressing process may involve tightening around the abdomen, we prioritize the safety of both the mother and the baby.
However, in exceptional cases, we may be able to assist you only if you agree to our consent form.
If you wish to inquire further, please contact us by phone.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
I have a large waist size. Is it still possible for me to wear a kimono?
There are no strict restrictions regarding waist size, and many of our kimonos are free-size.
However, as each kimono is one-of-a-kind, the fit may vary, and some pieces may be difficult to wear depending on the individual garment.
As a general guideline, our kimonos can accommodate waist and hip measurements of around 110 cm.
During the dressing process, our staff will adjust the fit to suit your body shape, so slight differences in size are usually not a problem.
Please feel free to visit us with confidence.
I am either very tall or very short. Is it still possible for me to wear a kimono? (Women)
For guests who are shorter
If you are 140 cm or taller, we can adjust the kimono during dressing to ensure a proper fit.
For guests under 140 cm, we may provide a children’s kimono depending on availability.
For guests who are taller
If you are up to around 170 cm, standard dressing is usually possible.
For guests over 170 cm, please note that the ohashori (fold at the waist) may become shorter, and the hem may appear slightly higher than usual.
Thank you for your understanding.
I am either very tall or very short. Is it still possible for me to wear a kimono? (Men)
Yes, it is possible.
We offer men’s kimono sizes ranging from S to 5L, so guests up to around 190 cm in height can wear them without any problem.
For guests over 190 cm, the hem may appear slightly shorter, but wearing a kimono is still possible.
Is it possible to have my own kimono or yukata dressed by your staff?
We are very sorry, but to avoid any issues such as damage or stains, we generally do not offer dressing services for kimonos or yukatas brought in by customers.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
